The Professional Black Writer

We Build Bridges Through the Written Word!

The Professional Black Writer™ (PBW) exists to promote writing and to encourage professional and fledgling writers as they grow in their ability to express themselves using the written word.

With this in mind, the rules of conduct at PBW are as follows:

  • All items posted in the PBW Blog and PBW Forum sections must be works related to writing.*
  • If the work which you are posting does not belong to you and is not designated “for public use,” please give the author credit and provide a link to the place where you found the work.
  • If a blog post consists of an article, essay or story which does not belong to you, do not to post the entire item unless the item is very short (three or four paragraphs).
  • Please do not post the title or body of your work in all capital letters; that is considered yelling in Internet parlance.
  • Not a hard, fast rule but a suggestion: after you publish a post, look it over again to see if you have made any grammar or spelling errors.  Sometimes errors are more noticeable after the post is published.
  • For videos: post promotional or instructional videos for written works only, i.e. for book trailers, conferences, signings, events, interviews (your own or with professional writers), etc.
  • For photos: please keep the photos tasteful and appropriate for a site dedicated to cerebral pursuits.
  • No soliciting or advertising for items not related to a PBW member’s written work.
  • Keep the R-rated language to a minimum.
  • Keep the public communication on a professional and strictly platonic level.
  • If you are having trouble figuring out how to use one of the technical features offered on PBW, Ning has an extensive and clear Help Section.  In addition, the moderators are more than willing to assist.

Thank you for your attention to these matters.

Welcome to the Professional Black Writer!

The Professional Black Writer network is a group of individuals dedicated to the promulgation of expression and thought via the written word. We stimulate ourselves to grow professionally and personally by encouraging both freedom of expression and dialogue.

We are writers, editors, publishers, poets and friends, coming together to network and promote one another. Remember, success is only achieved through trying, so let's start building bridges to success!

I look forward to forging long-lasting associations and networking with each and every one of you!

Namaste !
